Air Force 1 iD Bespoke - DAMN IT FRANZEN

We recently interviewed The Mayor on his collecting habits and his 1000th pair of Air Force 1s. He’s added many more pairs since and yesterday his Air Force 1 iD Bespoke finally arrived at Nike Sportswear in New York. While the sneakers are just slightly different from what The Mayor designed, the outsole is suppose to be a solid red, they are amazing nonetheless. For the upper, dark denim is used to cover the entire base of the Air Force 1, red patent leather pops out on the swoosh, back tab and tongue label and for the lining a extremely lux brown leather. To finish off, the sole is icy translucent gum, old harness leather adorns the tongue and back of the shoes and on the lace lock MYR lasered in. Via Sneaker News

Legendary photographer Glen E. Friedman comes to Los Angeles

Legendary photographer Glen E. Friedman comes to Los Angeles’ Subliminal Projects gallery for a major retrospective of his works in a show titled Idealist Propaganda opening tomorrow, December 13th, 2008.
Idealist Propaganda will feature a rare selection of Friedman’s oeuvre, including twenty-five never-before exhibited photographs of his celebrated iconic photos of the pioneering skate, punk and hip-hop subcultures to his equally political and polarized subject matter of the natural world. Having shot Jay Adams and Tony Alva to Run DMC, Public Enemy and the Beastie Boys to Minor Threat and Black Flag, Idealist Propaganda will prove to be a transcendent exhibition and ultimately Friedman’s most definitive creative and philosophical statement.
Visit www.subliminalprojects.com for more information on Idealist Propaganda.

Yao Ming Transformer Basketball Toy

A while back we showed you the Nike 7.0 x Transformers Convoy & Megatron, a collaboration that paired up Transformers toys with the Nike Free 7.0 running shoe. While the Yao Ming basketball transformer may not fall in line with the Nike Transformers, considering Yao is endorsed by Reebok, this toy is definitely a cool take on the Transformers concept. At first glance, this toy just looks like a small, plastic basketball. Then, upon opening, you see the figure pictured above, which appears to be some kind of Yao Ming transformer, basketball super-hero. These may release in China and Houston, TX, but there is no official release information so stay tuned. via HoopChina

Air Jordan 1 Retro - Black - White - Quai 54

A month ago we were one of the first sources to bring you information regarding the release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro Quai 54 inspired colorway that looks more like a Jordan I/XXII Countdown Pack and Jordan 1 Olympic combination more than anything. This Air Jordan 1 Retro uses the colorway of the AJ1 High from the Countdown Pack and the “Dream Team” graphic from the AJ1 Olympic shoe on itself with some other small details that make it the special pair inspired by the Quai 54, an International Streeball Tournament held in France every year which was sponsored in part by Jordan Brand this past year, and a limited release at select Jordan Brand retailers in April of 2009.via 52Xie

Nike SB Dunk Low Brazil Custom Series - Rodrigo Petersen

As one of three installments in the Brazil Custom Series from Nike SB is this Dunk Low by skater Fabio Cristiano. Following the “walkman” inspiration, Fabio’s shoe is inspired by the cassette tape that is inserted into the walkman. The shoe uses a bold mixture of Purple and Black as well as some dope graphics. Because of the Brazil exclusive release, little was known about it in the rest of the world, they were released on November 13th, 2008 in Brazil with the pairs being limited to 480 worldwide.

Nike Air Force II Premium - Gucci-Inspired

When we showed you these Gucci-inspired Nike Air Force II Highs last month, word was that they were slated as a 2009 release from Beaverton’s impressive Nike Sportswear line. As is the case with all expectations, the actual event is subject to change. With this early release, we get the good end of the stick.

Pics from Complex show us that the toebox and a stretch of the rear quarter/heel are embossed with an intricate, paisley-like imprint. Other added details include the laces and plastic eyelet, both in the signature hunter green and deep red Gucci stripe. These hues also appear on a newly colourful tongue tag. Complex reports that they’re available now for $102, but we’ve not seen them yet on the NSW online store. Check your local NSW retailers and SneakerNews for more details.

Nike Air Force 1 Spring 09 Elephant Print Pack & More

For the Spring 2009 Season, we’ve already seen plenty of previews from Nike Sportswear and now it’s time to showcase the shoe that most sneakerheads anticipate the most, the Air Force 1. For the Spring and Summer 2009 Collections, Nike Sportswear Creative Director, Richard Clarke, said this “For the launch of Nike Sportswear we looked at the Beijing games and derived inspiration from that. This Season, we took ACG and its 20th anniversary as a driving force for the creative direction.”

The design team that worked on the Air Force 1 looked to the Elephant Print created by Tinker Hatfield, as a key point of inspiration for the Spring Supreme, Premium, and even In-Line Air Force 1’s. “This season we went back to iconic prints as only Nike can do, but adding that Sportswear innovation, fusing the AF1 with a meticulously crafted laser etched Elephant print puts this AF1 into a class all its own”, said Jesse Leyva, Nike Global Design Director. Some additional features on the entire collection of Air Force 1’s for Spring 2009 include an interior gloriously re-engineered in supple leather; smooth, rolled edges and flush seaming for superior comfort as well as a polished deubré as a finishing touch.

Nike Air Force 1 Supreme - Huarache

The Nike Sportswear Spring/Summer 2009 Collection is only a few months away and we’ve showed you a number of Air Force 1’s inspired by the Elephant Print that are scheduled for a Spring delivery and now we have information regarding the Summer delivery of Air Force 1’s, specifically this Nike Air Force 1 Supreme inspired by Nike’s Huarache. This clean White, White, and Ice outsole Air Force 1 Supreme features a number of elements that we typically can only find on Supreme level AF1’s such as the rolled leather edges and flush seaming. Look for this sneaker to drop in the upcoming months of 2009 at select Nike Sportswear retailers.

San Francisco based, HUF, is back at it with their collaboration series of caps with New Era and this time the product is one of the better ones we’ve seen from one of the original brands that started collaborating with New Era. This 59Fifty fitted cap by New Era comes in all Black leather on the outside with the traditional “H” for HUF on the center panel while the underbrim and inside of the hat features a painted graphic of dogs that may have taken some inspiration from Cassius Marcellus Coolidge.
